Day 1:-- Cederberg Mountains
We begin our journey at the Nomad Adventure Centre, 204 Long Street, Cape Town. Our first stop is Tableview where, weather permitting, we can view Table Mountain. Continuing north we reach the Cederberg Mountain area in the early afternoon. Winter or Summer, this region offers a variety of outdoor activities. During the cooler months the hot springs at Citrusdal offer warmth, while in summer months we spend the afternoon walking in the area or relaxing at the camp. In the afternoon we spend some time learning about the truck and camp equipment. (LD)

Day 2:-- Namaqualand
Leaving the Cederberg region, we travel through Namaqualand and across the Namibian Border on the Gariep (Orange) River. We spend the night on the banks of the river, getting to know each other around the campfire. (BLD)

Day 3:-- Gariep (Orange) River
In the summer we recommend on overnight adventure - canoeing down the river – spending a night out in the wild. In the cooler winter months our groups prefer a day trip on the river – returning to the warmth of the tents in the evening. If you decide against the canoe experience, enjoy your time swimming, watching birds and investigating the interesting geographical features that are unique to the Richtersveld. (BLD)

Day 4:-- Fish River Canyon
Our destination is the awesome Fish River Canyon, the second largest in the world, where we will enjoy the sunset and a sundowner at the edge of this imposing natural wonder. (BLD)

Day 5:-- Namib Naukluft National Park
From the canyon we continue on into the remote Namibian hinterland. We arrive at Sesriem Camp in the early afternoon and have time to go for a walk down into the geologically remarkable Sesriem Canyon. We camp for the night under the stars, beside the fire, surrounded by the shifting dunes and desert silence. (BLD)

Day 6:-- Sossusvlei
A very early start is needed to see the sunrise from the top of the magnificent dunes. A large breakfast awaits your descent from the dunes. A short drive takes us to the 2x4 parking area – from where you can either walk in and out of Sossusvlei, take a 4x4 transfer, or educate yourself about this unique eco-system on a hike led by an experienced local guide. The afternoon is spent at a beautiful campsite near Solitaire, the smallest town in Namibia. (BLD)

Day 7:-- Swakopmund
We set off early for a dramatic drive through the arid Namib Nakluft towards the seaside resort-town of Swakopmund. If we are lucky the resident flamingo flock can be seen at Walvis Bay en route. The evening is spent in hostel-style accommodation and you have the option of enjoying a dinner at a local restaurant serving the catch of the day from the local fishermen. We may also be joined by some additional ’Nomads’ for our onward journey to Vic Falls this evening. (BL)

Day 8:-- Swakopmund
Today is devoted to the adventure options in-and-around Swakopmund. We may choose to do some shopping in town or head for the beach. (BLD)

Day 9:-- Spitzkoppe
We leave Swakopmund to visit the largest seal colony on the African coast at Cape Cross. We head north towards the mysterious Spitzkoppe, a sacred site of the San people. We have the chance to climb the boulders and rocks formations and camp in the wild in the shadow for the night. (BLD)

Day 10 and 11:-- Etosha National Park
An early rise for a drive north to Etosha NP and some of most unique game viewing experiences in Africa. We spend our days visiting the abundant water holes for some excellent game photography, and evenings next to the campfire. After supper we relax at some of the finest floodlit waterholes in the world. (BLD)

Day 12:-- Rundu
We leave Etosha and head for Rundu on the Kavango River. We have the option of enjoying a sunset cruise if we have the time. (BLD)

Day 13:-- Northern Namibia
As we make our way towards Botswana and the Okavango Delta, we take the road less travelled and pass some interesting local sights. The evening is spent around the campfire taking in the sounds of the African night. We have the choice of visiting the Mahango Game Park this afternoon or tomorrow morning. (BLD)

Day 14, 15 and 16:-- Okavango Delta
We arrive at the gateway to the Okavango and await our transfer by 4x4 and speedboat to our Delta base camp. On the rare occasion that someone chooses not to experience the Delta, we drop them at a local campsite where they can relax for a couple of days.
Stage highlights: The only inland delta in the world Optional Experiences: The Okavango Delta option is the highlight of the tour for many! We strongly recommend you take up this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! We spend our days exploring the winding channels of the Delta in makoros, going on nature walks and enjoying the solitude of this unique pristine wilderness area. All meals are included.

Day 17:-- Caprivi National Park
Today we leave the Delta behind and pass through the Caprivi NP in Namibia, camping under the stars on the banks of the Kwando River. (BLD)

Day 18:-- Chobe National Park
Today we drive to our camp on the banks of the Chobe River. The afternoon is spent on an optional boat cruise into the renowned Chobe National Park, an excellent opportunity for viewing some of the best of African wildlife. (BLD)

Day 19:-- Victoria Falls
We depart Kasane and head for the vibrant town of Victoria Falls. We arrive at our final destination around noon and after lunch we have time to visit the Falls. The popular optional sunset cruise includes dinner and drinks. (BL)

Day 20:-- Victoria Falls
Sadly, this is the final day of the tour. Most people will spend the day White Water Rafting – a not-to-be-missed experience of a lifetime! Vic Falls offers many exciting challenges for the adventurous extreme sport lover. The last evening can be spent together as a group at a local restaurant, recounting our tour experiences and adventures. (B)

Day 22:-- Victoria Falls
We begin our journey at Savanna Lodge, 68 Courtney Selous Crescent and drive across the border to our camp in Livingstone on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River. Spend the day enjoying the activities in Livingstone or finalising arrangements for your trip before returning to camp in the evening. (D)

Day 23:-- En route to Lusaka
We leave behind the excitement of Vic Falls and head off on our Nomad expedition. Our route towards the bustling Zambian capital of Lusaka takes us along an interesting route. We set up camp and enjoy the evening relaxing after our long drive. (BLD)

Day 23:-- En route to Chipata
Today is an early start and a drive through southern Zambia. Our campsite outside Chipata is an ideal time to take a walk to stretch the legs. (BLD)

Day 24 and 25:-- Luwawa Forest
Today we cross the border from Zambia into Malawi. We head for the Luwawa forest, above the Great Rift Valley. You will remember this indigenous forest region for its magnificent scenery. A hike through the forest may reward you with a glimpse of some of its secretive wildlife. (BLD)

Day 26 and 27:-- Central Lake Malawi
We soon catch sight of the lake where we will spend the next couple of carefree days. For the more adventurous there are endless leisure and watersport activities. Alternatively, soak up the atmosphere and relax in one of the most scenic and memorable holiday destinations in Africa! The evenings are spent beside its tranquil waters enjoying the party atmosphere of this famous spot. (BLD)

Day 28 and 29:-- Northern Lake Malawi
We continue a short way further along the northern part of the lake, close to the Livingstonia Mountains where we will continue our relaxation for the next day or two. Take a stroll through the nearby craft market and make friends with the friendly people of Malawi or take a hike into the mountains if the weather is favorable. (BLD)

Day 30:-- En route to Iringa
Today we make the border crossing out of Malawi. Leaving the lake behind us, we head for our first night in Tanzania and gain an hour as we cross into the East African time zone. As we climb out of the Great Rift Valley through some spectacular mountain passes, we pass the vast tea plantations in the highlands to our camp outside Iringa. (BLD)

Day 31:-- Dar es Salaam
Our route takes us through the Mikumi National Park to the historical port city of Dar es Salaam. At our camp beside the Indian Ocean, arrangements will be made for our 3-day excursion to the ‘Venice of Africa’ - Zanzibar Island. For those not visiting the island, Dar presents a wonderful kaleidoscope of African city-life with many colourful people and markets. (BLD)

Day 32, 33 and 34:-- Zanzibar
A transfer by ferry takes us to Zanzibar where we will spend the next few days exploring this fascinating island with its renowned architecture, beautiful beaches and colourful people and history. The excursion is at your own expense and this can vary depending on your preferred level of accommodation and activities. Explore the island by motorbike from the historical capital, Stone Town. (Meals are for own arrangements)

Day 35:-- Dar es Salaam

Day 36:-- En route to Lushoto
Leaving Dar es Salaam behind us, we head inland and begin the long scenic climb towards Africa’s highest peak Mt. Kilimanjaro. With half of the journey to Kilimanjaro behind us, we spend the night at our campsite where you can enjoy a walk and breathe in the fresh mountain air. (BLD)

Day 37:-- En route to Arusha
Arriving at our camp outside Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania, we settle in to our base for the exploration of one of the most abundant wildlife reserves in the world over the next couple of days.(BLD)

Day 38 and 39:-- Serengeti
There are many options available, ranging from the one-day trip to the Ngorongoro crater, to a three-day trip into the Serengeti. As this is for your own expense, we give you every opportunity to match the activity to your budget. For those not going to the parks, take this opportunity to absorb some of the fascinating local culture. (BLD)
